The Man of God (2022) follows after how Samuel grows up under a strict, abusive pastor father. He dreams of escaping both his family and religion.
When he leaves for university, Samuel abandons his faith. He becomes a rebellious musician, chasing fame and pleasure.
Samuel juggles relationships with three women. He falls for Joy, but she marries someone else. Heartbroken, Samuel marries Teju, his childhood friend. Their marriage is troubled by secrets and mistrust.
Samuel’s old friend Rekya returns, now wealthy from shady dealings. She convinces him to start his own church for money. Samuel becomes a popular pastor, but his life is built on lies and crime.
Eventually, Samuel’s illegal activities are exposed. He is arrested and loses everything. After prison, Samuel returns home. His family welcomes him back, and he seeks redemption.
