Mickey 17 (2025) Official Synopsis
Mickey 17 (2025). In 2054, Mickey Barnes (Robert Pattinson) escapes Earth’s debt-ridden slums by becoming an “Expendable” on a mission to colonize Niflheim, a frozen exoplanet. His job: die repeatedly for dangerous tasks, only to be regenerated with his memories intact.
After 17 gruesome deaths, Mickey 17 survives a cave collapse but returns to find his replacement, Mickey 18—an aggressive clone.
Violating the colony’s “no multiples” rule, the two clash while navigating threats from their cult-like leader, Kenneth Marshall (Mark Ruffalo).
Who seeks to exploit Niflheim’s resources and eradicate its native “creepers,” caterpillar-like creatures with hive intelligence.
As the Mickeys evade execution, they uncover Marshall’s genocidal plans and ally with Nasha (Naomi Ackie), Mickey’s security-officer lover, and Kai (Anamaria Vartolomei), a sympathetic scientist. The creepers, initially feared, reveal themselves as sentient beings demanding justice for their slaughtered kin.
A chaotic showdown ensues: Mickey 18 sacrifices himself to kill Marshall, while Mickey 17 destroys the cloning tech, ending the cycle of exploitation. Nasha emerges as a leader, forging peace with the creepers and symbolizing hope for a humane future.
