Gangs of Lagos (2023) follows after how Obalola, Ify, and Gift grow up in Isale Eko, a tough Lagos neighborhood ruled by gangs and political violence. As kids, Obalola’s father, a local king, is murdered, shaping his harsh reality.
The three friends get caught stealing and are drawn into the world of crime under powerful gang leaders.
Obalola becomes a trusted enforcer for Kazeem, a ruthless gang boss involved in politics. Gift embraces gang life fully, while Ify dreams of music but stays loyal to his friends.
When a mission goes wrong, Ify is killed, sparking a violent gang war.
Obalola learns Kazeem killed his mentor Nino. Seeking revenge, Obalola leads a bloody fight to end Kazeem’s reign. The film explores friendship, betrayal, and the cycle of violence in Lagos’s underworld.
